Weapon skills:
Castles in the sky's Weapon skill system is heavily oriented around Elements.
The Element of the Weapon you have equipped determines the exact visual look of and effect of the weapons skill.
For example: the Sword skill always hits things in a line in front of you. Here's some screenshots of the skill in action: (Sorry it's in the editor and has editor tools showing.)
Air Slash with Frost Element on the sword
Shadow version of the sword skill
The Scythe skill always hits a wide arc in front of the attacker.
Earth version of the Scythe Skill
Storm version of the Scythe Skill
The Scepter skill has a magic blast that hits Damage over Time on all foes in the blast.
Screenshots coming soon.
The bow has a ScatterShot skill that shoots multiple arrows in a spread.

The shield allows Blocking, which levels up and gets better the more you use it. Blocking stops all arrows in front of the character and has a chance to block other attacks for all directions.
Passive skills
Players will be able to equip one Passive Skill, which are semi-rare skills that give some permanent effect.
Mending Aura - Heal yourself and nearby allies 10 HP every second.
Blaze of Glory - Incoming damage x2, Explode upon death dealing heavy damage and knockback to nearby foes.
Sharpened Steel - Deal 10% more damage with all attacks.
Untouchable - Run and attack 10% faster, Incoming damage hurts 20% more.
Tank - Take 20% less damage from all sources. Run and attack 10% slower.
Elemental - Deal 20% more damage with elemental skills, or heal 20% more with life skills.
(I had more but unity related data loss lost days of work and I can't recall what they all were.)
Character skills
Character skills are skill you don't need any particular weapon equipped to use. I don't actually have any in mind yet, but I'm sure there will be some.
